Tether — the company behind leading stablecoin USDT — plans to launch a stablecoin tracking the price of the United Arab Emirates dirham.

According to an Aug. 21 announcement, Tether’s upcoming dirham stablecoin is the result of a collaboration with crypto services company Phoenix Group and investment firm Green Acorn Investments. The firm promises that its newest stablecoin will “lead the way in seeking licensing under the UAE Central Bank’s recently announced Payment Token Services Regulation.”

Tether’s growing stablecoin family

The new UAE dirham-pegged stablecoin will join Tether’s list of products. This includes USD stablecoin USDT, euro stablecoin EURT, Chinese Yuan-pegged CNHT, Mexican peso-pegged MXNT, gold-backed XAUT and gold-backed USD stablecoin aUSDT.

Per the announcement, Tether’s new stablecoin will be fully backed by liquid UAE-based reserves. The company explains that it hopes to bring the advantages of cheap and seamless remittances seen with stablecoins to this currency.

“The United Arab Emirates is becoming a significant global economic hub, and we believe our users will find our Dirham-pegged token to be a valuable and versatile addition,” Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said. “Tether’s Dirham-pegged stablecoin is set to become an essential tool for businesses and individuals looking for a secure and efficient means of transacting in the United Arab Emirates Dirham whether for cross-border payments, trading, or simply diversifying one’s digital assets.”

The company claims that while the current stablecoin market is valued at $150 billion — with USDT accounting for $115 billion of that — projections see this industry reach $2.8 trillion by 2028. Tether also highlights that crypto usage in the United Arab Emiratess is seeing significant growth since 2022, when local authorities established the Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority. Seyedmohammad Alizadehfard, Co-Founder and Group CEO of Phoenix Group said:

I realize that July just saw the launch of Fallout: London, a massive, total-conversion mod that needed five years of all-volunteer development to bring to term. Still, there is something about Atomfall, Rebellion Developments’ own take on a post-nookular United Kingdom with a 1950s vibe, that I find appealing.

Full disclosure, there are few Rebellion games I won’t at least try, and most of them I genuinely enjoy, going back to a dream I had in 2014 when Obi-Wan Kenobi told me to try Sniper Elite 3 because I would like it (I am not making that up). I did and Ben was right.

Even if to video gaming at large, Rebellion’s games draw so-so aggregate review scores and rarely figure in end-of-year lists or awards, there’s an atmosphere and consistency of fun that I do admire, especially in Sniper Elite and even in titles like Strange Brigade and the Zombie Army Trilogy. We play video games because they’re fun, first and foremost.

So I’m willing to give an ambitious project like Atomfall a little extra rope, even if it is derivative of things Bethesda Game Studios and its army of devoted modders have already done well for 15 years. On Wednesday, Rebellion brought its next game, due for launch in March 2025, to Xbox’s show from the Gamescom floor.

If you’re wondering, yes, this will be a legitimate, open-world action role-playing game — it’s not just a linear set of shooter missions with the odd vendor or two to resupply your ammo or upgrade your weapon. Crafting, dialogue options, and basic scavenging/resource hunting all figure in, as it’s a survival game after all.

Atomfall’s influences: Sniper Elite, and a real atomic disaster

“We always value sandbox exploration and giving the player lots of freedom in their objectives,” Ben Fisher, the game’s design director, said in a discussion with Xbox event staff after the latest trailer aired. “At the same time this is a survival game with RPG elements, there’s skill, there’s crafting, the story of the game unfolds as you explore.”

Intriguingly, Atomfall is loosely based on the very real Windscale fire of October 1957, the worst nuclear accident in the United Kingdom’s history. It’s one of seven accidents rated a five or higher on the seven-level International Nuclear Event Scale (Americans, think Three Mile Island, another 5 on that scale).

“We took that as a starting point and then said, ‘What’s a Rebellion interpretation of that event?’” FIsher said. “It’s an alternate history story.”

Character or avatar creation does not sound like it will figure into the RPG experience Rebellion is delivering, though. The player character isn’t voiced and there are no signifiers to their age or gender (Fisher noted they wear gloves).

The player’s mysterious background is part of the story, “that you may or may not uncover,” he said. “We wanted it to feel not so much a war zone as it is a pub crawl. [But] you’re desperately attempting to survive.”

How big is Atomfall’s open world, though?

Atomfall’s world comprises “five or six” sandbox maps, Fisher said, and as a point of reference he invited Sniper Elite fans to think about how its maps are constructed, in that the exploitable and explorable terrain still looks natural without giving away its usefulness or secrets.

Players will be able to travel freely between these maps at any time, Fisher added, and they’re supported by building interiors and even bigger set-piece locations for the game’s major conflicts. “We wanted to lean into that densely packed puzzle box,” for which Rebellion is known, Fisher said.

We’ll see how well Rebellion performed outside of its comfort zone when Atomfall launches in March 2025. They are taking on a considerable challenge in that a lot of what Atomfall is striving to do either has been done, if not already done as well as it ever could be, and this is a shooter studio’s first crack at the genre.

But, speaking personally, the goodwill they’ve built up with both Sniper Elite, and rollicking spinoffs using its engine, means it’s worth at least a chance. And as it will be launching simultaneously on Xbox Game Pass when it does arrive, there’s not much risk in giving Atomfall at least a look-see.

Atomfall will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

How does Samsung’s Odyssey 3D monitor work?

Unlike many immersive and VR experiences, the Odyssey 3D’s light field display (LFD) technology creates lifelike 3D images from 2D content by using a lenticular lens on the front panel. This means that gamers will not need to wear a pair of glasses to feel the effect.

Samsung explains that with its Eye Tracking and View Mapping technology, the monitor is designed to provide a three-dimensional experience. Eye Tracking monitors the movement of both eyes using a built-in stereo camera, while View Mapping “continuously adjusts the image to enhance depth perception.”

The tech is supposed to help reduce eye strain and fatigue associated with traditional 3D glasses, as it allows for a more natural and comfortable gaming experience.

It will be available in sizes up to 37 inches with a 4K QLED resolution display. What’s more, Samsung said the monitor will launch worldwide later this year, including in North America, Europe and Australia, though the release dates may vary by country.

Both monitors come with a single DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports for connectivity, along with a tilting, height-adjustable stand to help users position the screen for ideal viewing of 3D content. The Odyssey 3D has a high refresh rate of 165Hz, which is better for smooth and uninterrupted gameplay.

The company hasn’t indicated how much the Odyssey 3D may cost; some are expecting it to be fairly expensive.

In a statement, Hoon Chung, executive vice president of Samsung’s visual display business, said: “We are thrilled to present our glasses-free 3D gaming monitor at Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming exhibition.

Xbox’s new Game Pass Standard tier of service is being offered to gamers in the console’s Insiders test program beginning today.

The mid-range subscription, announced last month alongside a $3 price increase to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier of service, gives players access to the Game Pass library but not the day-and-date new releases that give Ultimate so much of its value.

Xbox Wire said on Tuesday that Standard-tier subscribers could wait as long as a year to see these brand-new games in their libraries. Xbox Game Pass Standard, whose full price is $14.99 per month, also does not include access to the EA Play library of games.

In early June, Microsoft hiked the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $16.99 per month to $19.99 per month. Game Pass Ultimate is basically everything the company offers in its subscription services — the full, monthly-curated catalog of games; the same-day launches (usually from first party studios) Xbox is constantly touting; access to EA Play’s library as well as Game Pass access on a Windows PC.

PC Game Pass, which is basically Xbox Game Pass Ultimate without console access, went up from $9.99 per month to $11.99 per month. Xbox Game Pass Core — which was rebranded from Xbox Live Gold in September 2023 with the end of the Games With Gold program — remains a $9.99 monthly subscription, though its annual price goes from $59.99 to $74.99 (basically a $44.89 savings if bought in bulk instead of month-to-month).

How does the new tier change Game Pass’s offerings overall?

Xbox Game Pass Core confers multiplayer access like Xbox Live Gold, but the library of “free games” is a separate group of 25 games and does not include any same-day Game Pass launches.

Microsoft did not say when the new Standard tier would launch (other than “coming soon.”) Insiders who are Game Pass Core members with fewer than two months of service on their accounts can sign up to try Standard for $1 per month during the preview period. They just ask that previewers share feedback.

LEGO has revealed six never-before-seen Super Mario Kart sets, bringing Nintendo’s iconic franchise to the world of bricks for the very first time. The sets were originally teased as part of the toymaker’s MAR10 Day celebration in March and give fans and LEGO builders their first full look at the new products, launching on January 1, 2025.

The price of the sets vary considerably, ranging from $14.99 to $79.99 depending on the size. There are also some familiar faces including Luigi, Dong Kong, and Baby Peach joining the team. From motorcycles to flying pirate ships, several new kart designs have been added. The racers can even launch green and red shells.

What’s included in the new Mario Kart sets?

The latest sets can work with the existing interactive Lego Super Mario figures including Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach, which can emit sound effects such as horns and the squeal of tires from the Mario Kart games.

The collection also includes a 133-piece blue Yoshi on a motorcycle with Yoshi motifs, a 174-piece set of Mario’s famous red kart with Toad dressed as pit crew, a 387-piece set with Donkey Kong driving a barrel-themed vehicle, a 321-piece set featuring baby Mario and Luigi in a balloon battle, a 390-piece rendition of Toad’s garage, and an 823-piece Grand Prix set that includes a starting gate and three karts.

Simon Kent, LEGO Group’s design director, stated: “We are beyond excited to turbo-charge our LEGO Super Mario universe with the reveal of these latest Mario Kart sets, that we know fans have been eagerly waiting for.

“The brand-new LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets provide an immersive building experience and capture the heart-pounding action of the beloved video game series – showing fans that the world is your track like never before!”

These aren’t the only Mario-themed Lego sets coming soon. Last month, Lego unveiled a 2D-style Super Mario World set, complete with Mario and Yoshi.

Starfield continues to get better and better and now, almost a year after release we are finally getting vehicles – well, one for now, to drive around. Suddenly those barren planets will not take as long to traverse, and as for the cities? Well, maybe it’s time to hit the road.

The vehicle in question is a space buggy type of thing, so if you are up for cruising around in this Moon Patrol-esque machine, the only question you need the answer to, is how do you get hold of one? It’s going to cost you. Not real money but those Starfield Creditsr things, which may be in abundance if you have been working hard doing missions, or you may find you need to save up a bit longer. Let’s find out, shall we?

How to get vehicles in Starfield

At the moment, there is just the Rev-8 Planet Rover. It may well be that more are added to the game over time, and it may well be that we can get there from different places too, but for now, it is definitely a one car from one guy type of vibe.

The guy in question? It’s the Ship Services Technician of course. Known to hang around not exactly doing a lot near the landing bays – well, to be fair, doing nothing until now apart from selling the odd ship. I bet he’s fuming at suddenly having all this extra work dumped on his plate.

Anyway, all you need to do is approach him and interact. From the choices that pop up, rather obviously, choose ‘I’d like to purchase a vehicle.’

The only sticky point from here on in is having enough funds. There are no deals to be had here, no part exchange, you need 25,000 in your wallet or you can be on your way.

Hand over the cash, choose the paint job you would like from the Store menu and you are all set.

Now, landing your ship anywhere will park up the Rev-8 right next to it, ready for you to leap in and drive to the nearest Starbucks for that Skinny Latte you promised yourself upon reentry.

If you are rocking a companion there is room for them too. Just don’t let them choose the radio station.

Democratic pro-crypto candidate Yassamin Ansari won the primary elections in Arizona.

Local news outlet AZCentral recently reported that Ansari won by a mere 39 votes against a candidate backed by staunch crypto critic Senator Elizabeth Warren. The winner is a former Phoenix mayor and will now move on to the general election in a Democrat-favoring district.

Ansari’s lead over her Warren-backed leading Democratic opponent Raquel Terán decreased from down to 42 votes. Still, the pro-crypto candidate ended up prevailing with a lead of 39 votes after the tally was checked under court supervision.

The development follows late July reports that Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, co-founders of cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, have each contributed $500,000 in Bitcoin (BTC) to support efforts to replace United States Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Warren was the one who back in May — alongside William Cassidy (R-La.) sent a letter to the Office of National Drug Control Policy and the Drug Enforcement Administration that read:

“[We] seek an update on the Biden Administration’s actions to crack down on drug traffickers’ exploitation of crypto to grow their business and launder their ill-gotten gains.”

According to an Aug. 20 Coindesk report, Fairshake — the leading political action committee (PAC) for the cryptocurrency industry — backed Ansari. The crypto advocacy organization paid for $1.4 million worth of advertising for the candidate, which her opponent starkly criticized. Fairshake spokesperson Josh Vlasto said:

“We were proud to support a leader who will come to Congress and work across the aisle and embrace innovation to grow our economy.”

Fairshake and its super PACs are now investing heavily to influence the November general election. The organizations have invested in 21 congressional races so far, including a plan to spend $12 million to derail Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).

Brown is the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee which has resisted movement on Senate legislation to oversee the cryptocurrency industry.

The Borderlands games have gone through a turbulent time in recent years with the titles out of the core trilogy simply not performing as they should.

With the recent movie not exactly living up to expectations either, fans of the franchise certainly need a pick-me-up in order to keep them engaged.

Enter Borderlands 4, the much anticipated follow up to the aforementioned trilogy which many hope will be the savior.

Borderlands 4 release date

As confirmed by its appearance at Gamescom 2024, Borderlands 4 will release in 2025.

However, what this does mean is that it has been under wraps for some time now and must be in a very advanced stage, with the devs confident it is getting closer to being the final product.

Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Studios, alluded to some secrets that have yet to be uncovered from the trailer, so pay close attention and you may be the one to unlock them.

Borderlands 4 platforms

It has been confirmed that Borderlands 4 will release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.

This was shown in the first trailer for the game, so it was nice to get the info right off the bat rather than speculating later down the road.

Obviously, this means that Borderlands 4 will be skipping the older generation of consoles – PS4 and Xbox One – so you will need to update to the current gen to experience that trademark Borderlands gameplay once more.

Is Borderlands 4 set on Pandora?

Borderlands 4 follows the direct events of Borderlands 3’s ending where (spoilers) Lilith essentially sacrifices herself to stop Pandora from being destroyed.

Because of this, yes, Pandora does survive, but does it return in Borderlands 4?

Well, the answer is a little unclear because in the description of the first official trailer for the game, it states that you will be searching for “new treasures to loot on an all-new planet”.

You did head to different planets in Borderlands 3 after beginning on Pandora, so it could just mean that it follows a similar pattern in this next iteration.

However, since the trilogy has come to an end and the specific mention of ‘all-new’ it could point directly to leaving Pandora behind for good.

Will Borderlands 4 be a looter shooter?

It has been confirmed from that first reveal of Borderlands 4 that it will follow the same formula as the trilogy that came before it with its looter shooter antics.

While there will undoubtedly be new mechanics introduced to keep the gameplay fresh, at its core it will be mechanics that Borderlands fans know and love.

The new, and all-digital, console options for Xbox Series X that have been rumored are officially for real, and they’re available for pre-order right now. The new machines will launch in most markets Oct. 15, with other territories coming aboard Oct. 29.

The new machines are:

• Xbox Series S in Robot White with a 1 TB SSD. $348.99. This is the same as the launch Series S except with double the storage capacity. (Up from 512 GB). A 1TB all-digital Xbox Series S is already available in Carbon Black for $349.99.
• Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition. This is an Xbox Series X without a disc drive. $449.99, available in Robot White.
• Xbox Series X 2TB Special Edition. This is an Xbox Series X with a disc drive, and double the SSD capacity of the launch Series X. $599.99, available in Galaxy Black.

What are the differences between the new and launch Xbox models?

These are the first variations on the launch models Xbox offered with the debut of the Series X and Series S in November 2020. The processing power of the new models is the same as the launch models; all that is changing is the internal storage, and the absence of a Blu-Ray drive on a Series X for the first time.

The MSRP for a standard 1 TB Xbox Series X with a drive is still $499, so the Digital Edition is a savings of only $50. A standard 512 GB Series S retails for $299, so for $50 more you double its hard drive. To double the hard drive of a Series X with a disc drive, that costs $100 more.

The first in-game footage of Batman: Arkham Shadow, an upcoming exclusive for Meta Quest 3, has been released. The VR game is a prequel story in the legendary Batman: Arkham series, however, it is set before Rocksteady’s Arkham Asylum.

It is expected to be a direct continuation of Rocksteady’s original trilogy after fans complained about Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which was technically supposed to be a follow-up.

The new gameplay trailer, which premiered at Gamescom Opening Night Live, showcased a first-person Batman experience and revealed that it would be released this October.

What is Batman: Arkham Shadow about?

In first-person mode, gamers will be able to carry out many of the same actions from previous entries, such as punching enemies, grappling across gaps, using various bat-gadgets, and activating Detective Vision.

The trailer seems to confirm the appearances of Harley Quinn, Harvey Dent (aka Two-Face), Dr. Crane (Scarecrow), Jim Gordon, Alfred, and the Rat King, who appears to be the main villain, although it’s unclear if he is a new character or a lesser-known figure from the comics.

Developer Camouflaj states that it has “reimagined the core Arkham experience for VR,” and was particularly inspired by the “intricate and interconnected level design” of Arkham Asylum.

Tech giant Meta, who are expanding their VR products, said: “Batman: Arkham Shadow will push Meta Quest 3 to its limits, giving players an up-close look at Gotham City and delivering an Arkham experience that will resonate with longtime fans.

“We’re very excited about this one, and can’t wait to get it in your hands come October.”

Meta explained that the game is set between the events of Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Asylum, which means players will be stepping into the shoes of a younger Bruce Wayne. He’ll be taking on the Rat King, who is “a dangerous new criminal with a cultish following.”

Camouflaj has teamed up with Oculus Studios for this game and has partnered with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC.

If you had told us back in the day, as we took our original Civilization floppy disk and popped it into the drive, that one day in the future there would be an iteration of Civ that had multiple different versions, cosmetics that you need to pay extra for, and you could play the game five days earlier than everybody else, with the caveat that it would cost you $130 we would probably have assumed you had banged your head.

But this Civ friends is now the world we live in. And the scary thing is, there are not even any details of the price of the “Collector’s Edition” here that will feature physical collectibles themed around the game. So expect it to be seriously north of these prices.

Don’t get us wrong, Civ 7 looks amazing but at some point, these prices need to stop getting higher and higher.

Of course, you could just go for the $70 Standard Edition if money is an object as it is for many, and fight the FOMO that the other versions are designed to induce. You don’t need to play it early, there is no real advantage to doing so, and you don’t need the cosmetics. Be strong.

Civilization VII Editions – the lowdown

While many pick up their phones when they’re bored, researchers say the endless scrolling on TikTok and YouTube shorts could actually be contributing to increased boredom levels.

Not only this, but the doom scrolling can lead to people feeling less satisfied, less engaged, and even less meaningful.

In a new study from the University of Toronto Scarborough’s Department of Psychology, over 1,000 participants were studied to analyze their behavior and the impact digital media has on their moods.

They were first asked to spend 10 minutes consuming short-form content before then being asked to watch a single longer-form video of a similar length.

Across seven experiments, a casual relationship between boredom and digital switching was found. When the participants were bored, they switched videos in the belief this would help them avoid the feeling.

“Switching between videos and within video, however, led not to less boredom but more boredom; it also reduced satisfaction, reduced attention, and lowered meaning,” write the researchers in their paper.

As such, the findings suggest that attempts to avoid the empty feeling through digital switching can sometimes exacerbate it. The enjoyment from watching videos is thought to be from immersing oneself in the clip rather than swiping through them.

Study brings up more questions to ascertain link between social media and boredom

While the study has thrown up findings that many doom scrollers may not like, the team behind the research says it has raised more questions than it has answered.

With digital switching having become inevitable due to the platforms that are most popular adopting short-form content as the go-to (TikTok and YouTube Shorts), the team say future investigation is needed to “explore whether there exists an optimal level of switching and the most adaptive ways to engage with videos and online articles…

“It would be intriguing to examine whether our findings replicate when altering the speed of a video, as some people prefer to watch content at twice the speed.”

Following on from a preview version, Microsoft has announced that the unified Teams app is now available on Windows 11, Windows 10, and Mac.

The update was made a reality on Tuesday (August 20) and brings all work, personal, and education accounts into a single Teams app.

This leaves the previous version redundant as there used to have to be two Teams apps on Windows 11 – one for personal use and the other for work or education.

The change has been much needed as it was a clunky experience for users who had to switch between accounts.

Now, everything has been combined and users can access these by clicking on the profile picture in the upper right-hand corner when signed into Teams. This will bring up all work, personal, and educational accounts in a side-by-side display.

Microsoft has also made it simpler for people to choose their preferred account when joining a Teams meeting which should make it easier for those with multiple.

“You can also join as a guest without signing in. Whether you’re joining a call to connect with a customer or discuss your school’s fall fundraiser, simply select your preferred account the moment you join the meeting, writes Microsoft employee Amit Fulay on the Microsoft Teams Blog.

Teams for personal use has been upgraded too, with the unified app aiming to make the previously frustrating experience a whole lot better.

“All users, including those on Windows 10 and Mac, can now connect and collaborate with anyone, anytime – for free – when signing in with a personal email.

“Schedule free meetings and invite participants with a simple join link. Or create a Community to bring your group together, such as your fantasy football league or your school’s parent organization, in a shared space with calling, chat, file sharing, and more.”

Fancy owning a piece of true retro-gaming history? Don’t we all, but if you have 20 grand lying around in a draw somewhere you could soon be the owner of the rights to Dragon’s Lair – Don Bluth’s historic arcade title from back in 1983.

As with all life, it isn’t quite as simple as that as the rights to the game only encompass the Super NES,  Mega Drive / Genesis, NES, and Game Boy versions to do with as you please. You can even develop new games using the IP, as long as it is on one of those four machines – perhaps not as ridiculous as it sounds, people are still making games for the Genesis and the Amiga as we speak.

The items, including Dragon’s Lair, are all available on a new system called Elite Systems Auction and it has been created by Steve Wilcox – founder of prominent 1980s and 90s publisher Elite Systems.

Elite was one of my favorite publishers back in the day with games for home computers such as Frank Bruno’s Boxing (much played on my beloved Amstrad CPC) and arcade conversions such as Space Harrier and Ikari Warriors

Now Wilcox has said, in an interview with Time Extension, that the service enabling IP holders of classic games to sell them via an eBay-style system, known as Elite Systems Auction, has long been an ambition of his.

The kicker is that the auction bit doesn’t work right now, IPs are just there as fixed prices and at the moment entirely are ones owned by Elite.

It’s a rather niche idea but it is interesting to see the value Elite still puts on things such as the Dragon’s Lair license. $20k is serious company money and would be unlikely to see much of a return on investment with just those four retro consoles to go at.

Condé Nast has officially signed a deal with OpenAI and becomes the latest in a list of media companies, despite other publishers taking the technology company to court.

The new partnership means content from Condé Nast’s brands Vogue, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Wired, and more, will be displayed within OpenAI’s products. This will include ChatGTP and the Search GPT prototype.

“We’re committed to working with Condé Nast and other news publishers to ensure that as AI plays a larger role in news discovery and delivery, it maintains accuracy, integrity, and respect for quality reporting,” said Brad Lightcap, the COO of OpenAI.

The new SearchGPT prototype is being tested to make finding information and reliable content sources ‘faster and more intuitive.’

With this deal in the bag, the prototype can offer direct links to news stories from the content owned by Vogue’s parent company. These search features will then be integrated directly into ChatGPT in the future.

The full details aren’t yet known, but it has been described as a multi-year partnership.

The CEO of Condé Nast, Roger Lynch, shared the news via an internal company memo: “I’m pleased to share with you that we are entering a multi-year partnership with OpenAI to expand the reach of Condé Nast’s content.

“As we all know, generative AI is rapidly changing ways audiences are discovering information. It’s crucial that we meet audiences where they are and embrace new technologies while also ensuring proper attribution and compensation for use of our intellectual property. This is exactly what we have found with OpenAI.”

He goes on to say that OpenAI has shown that they too are committed to this mission, describing them as being ‘transparent’ and ‘willing to productively work with publishers like us so that the public can receive reliable information…’

OpenAI’s new deal comes amidst legal pursuits from others

Other publishers have also signed a deal with the San Francisco-based company including the Associated Press, The Atlantic, Vox Media, TIME, Axel Springer, and more.

Not everyone is happy to be associated with the company though as OpenAI has faced several lawsuits since it came to fruition.

The New York Times and eight other papers are suing the company over copyright infringement after their content was allegedly used to train the model.
